The 4th
We spent the last few days trying to find out what people in the neighborhood are doing on the 4th. It appeared that they were doing a variety of things. So we decided to stay with our original plan and go over to a friend's house for dinner and then go over to a local park to watch fireworks. But we didn't want to leave our animals alone for that long so after dinner we went back home. We saw a few kids and said that after we checked on our animals, we were going to walk Cosmo over to a local school and watch the fireworks from Church on the Hill. We ended up with 17 people walking over! It was too many for Cosmo so we took him back home. It's amazing what happens when you just make yourself available to the neighborhood. We had fun with the kids and 2 parents that joined us also.

"make yourself available to the neighborhood"
what an amazing concept, one that I have been working on. Its right up there with learning to be intentional!
